The story of ARE (Anne & Rodney Everett) Vintage Cabin began almost 20 years ago when we first started dating.  We went on a day trip to Chimney Rock, walking through town, and saw the  truss bridge. Once across we spotted the cabin. A man was raking leaves in the yard and we asked about the house.  He said it had been in his wife's family for years and they would never sell. They invited us inside, we fell in love with it! A few years later we brought some of our children, there are 6 in our now combined family, back to visit Chimney Rock. Anne is an early riser, plus the hotel bed we stayed at was made of concrete, so she and her youngest daughter went on a walk while the guys slept. When they came to the bridge, memories of the cabin were renewed. As we walked down the street a for sale sign was visible. Grabbing my daughters hand, I ran down the street and the cabin that would never be for sale was for sale! We raced back to the hotel, poor daughter trying to keep up, woke up Rodney, waited for the listing realtor to call back and boom, offer made. After much negotiating, another story, 2 months later it was ours.

The cabin needed quite a bit of updating and repairs, as we found out later there were 2 other owners since we first saw it and it had been neglected. We saved, we visited, we roughed it out with no heat just to be there. We celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, mourned & healed after losing grandparents, rested and found our piece of heaven.  Finally, after 2 bad experiences with contractors, another long story,  we found a talented craftsman and ARE Vintage Cabin has been completely renovated with much TLC. There is something about this cabin that refreshes, renews and relaxes you every time you visit in any season.

ARE Vintage Cabin is located in the heart of Chimney Rock. Just minutes from restaurants and shops, across the street from the Rocky Broad River and less than a mile  to the Flowering Bridge in Lake Lure.

Lovingly restored and updated, ARE Vintage Cabin is ready to host your getaway.

ARE Vintage Cabin is the perfect blend of vintage charm and modern convenience. Reclaimed wooden floors, wood burning stove in stone fireplace. Custom kitchen with new appliance, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave all to make your visit the perfect vacation.

Each bedroom has a queen bed and dresser. The upstairs bathroom features a claw footed bath tub only, while the main level bath has a full shower.

The decks and porches are perfect for relaxing and listening to the river across the street. Roast s'mores at the fire pit on the side patio!

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy hiking the mountain trails at Chimney Rock State Park, horseback riding at the many stables in the area.  Kayaking and fly fishing in the stream and lake, and many more outdoor activities just minutes away.

Within a 40 minute drive of the property, Tryon International Equestrian Center is a must-visit for equestrian enthusiasts, showcasing some of the best riders in the hunter/jumper, dressage, and eventing disciplines.

Peaceful Retreat

Houston, Texas Peaceful Retreat Left on Jul 9, 2018 for a stay in Jun 2018 The home was warm, comfortable, immaculate and welcoming. The location was great and easy to journey to parts nearby. The town and its people were great.

We are happy you had an enjoyable vacation in Chimney Rock Village. We hope you visit us again soon.

Perfect for Quiet Vacation or Family Fun
Posted on: 9/6/2017

5 of 5 The house is just amazing. Beautiful and impeccably clean, and for being in the middle of nature we were pleasantly surprised that we never saw a single bug inside the house. There was everything we needed in the kitchen for meals and a large DVD selection and a connected TV with Netflix for downtime entertainment. The Wi-Fi was really strong, allowing for multiple connected devices and Wi-Fi calling - the only way to make calls wirelessly inside. It is located on a quiet street, walking distance to downtown Chimney Rock, where there are activities for kids and restaurants for all. The kids could gem mine, jump the rocks in the river, mini golf, and enjoy ice cream or funnel cakes. The adults could enjoy a coffee, peruse the quaint shops, and have an adult beverage with dinner then casually walk home. You can walk to Chimney Rock State Park, which was perfect for the Race to the Rock run, but you'll need to drive in every other day of the year. The views at the top are worth the 1,000 foot climb on windy, narrow roads. Within a couple of miles drive you can enjoy the beach and boat rides at Lake Lure, both of which I'd recommend. We absolutely loved our short stay here and will definitely be back. If you're contemplating staying here, look no further and book today!

Owner's Response: We at Cielo Property Management appreciate your most kind words. So glad that you were able to participate in the Race to the Rock. We look forward to hosting your next visit.

Second Honeymoon
Posted on: 6/6/2017

My husband and I took a weekend getaway to this beautiful cabin after a stressful and disappointing honeymoon. It was beyond perfect!! It had a kitchen with all the amenities we needed to cook a romantic dinner one night and a sweet front porch for us to drink coffee on in the mornings. Not only that, but it was just a short walk away from the precious town of Chimney Rock. They just opened up a little brewery on the river and it was so fun! With just a 45 minute drive to Asheville and even shorter drives to awesome hikes, we had more than enough to do that definitely made a wonderful second honeymoon! I would highly recommend this mountain cabin to anyone!

Great Get-Away!
Posted on: 6/6/2017

A wonderful place for a great get-away! Fresh mountain air! The cabin is adorable and very comfortable. The kitchen and baths are new and well appointed. Plenty of room for family or friends. Set back off the street, it's very peaceful if you're looking to unwind, and centrally located if you're looking for adventure and things to do. There are plenty of options in the area: 3 minute walking distance to Chimney Rock Village, 5 minute drive to Lake Lure, 30-40 minutes to Asheville and the Biltmore (great scenery en route), etc. We will definitely be going back!

ARE Vintage Cabin Great Location
Posted on: 6/1/2017

Sumathi January 2017 The home is in a great location among trees in Chimney Rock. Its walkable to the central part of town with shops and restaurants. The house is beautiful inside with a rustic woody feel to it with trees surrounding it. Very private and well maintained home. It had all the required amenities for us as well. We had a wonderful family vacation here. Would definitely go back if I were visiting the Asheville area again.

Cozy, Comfortable and Charming!
Posted on: 11/3/2016

ARE Vintage Cabin was an awesome place for our family of six to stay. The home was restored with a lot of love and even more quality. It is beautifully decorated with a large living/dining area, bath with shower & well-equipped kitchen on the first floor, and three bedrooms (with very comfortable queen-sized beds) and an oh-so-sweet claw foot tub on the second. We were close to town and the Rocky Broad River yet had plenty of privacy, being tucked away on a hillside. We will definitely stay here again. It’s beautiful.

Thank you for the kind words. We look forward to your next visit.
